Today Kara, Stacy’s daughter, dropped off her daughter, 16 month old Olivia to spend the day and overnight with us. We had an interesting day of searching for the missing shower drain plug (it was later discovered hidden beneath the living room fold out bed), emptying the dogs water dish to use it as a toy, and multiple other adventures. We met Stacy’s cousin Michael and his wife Kathleen at a place called Rims in Fort Worth for supper. They live in Paradise, TX about an hour from there. Michael treated us to a wonderful dinner. I had the catfish baked in a cornmeal breading with hush puppies and fries. Stacy had one of their signature chicken dishes, Michael the Frites and Kathleen the salmon. Olivia shared. It was all very well prepared and delicious. Our booth was directly across from the kitchen which was visible through glass windows to the seating area. Three of the ladies working there found it amusing to blow kisses with huge exagerated gestures to Olivia who of course hammed it right up sending them back. This kept everyone amused for several minutes. We all enjoyed visiting and look forward to the next time. We get the pleasure of having Olivia for the night as her mom has to work early tomorrow. Stacy will be in charge of that. Babies leak, and being a plumber, I fix leaks. I will have dog duty walking and taking care of our fur babies. They have adjusted well to camper life and know to wait for their leahes to be attached before going out. Walking all three at the same time is a bit of a challenge sometimes when they all want to go in a different direction! Invariably the leashes get tangled and as result, shorter. By the end of the walk they’re about a foot apart if I don’t stop and untangle along the way. Marley has already learned the park and when she is done wants to make a beeline for our camper, the heck with going around other spaces and staying on the roads! She is the oldest, 13 now, so we give her some latitude. Rosie tries to show that she is a big girl having learned from Jack to defend us against any on comers. Jack has always been the A type protector of the clan and she watches and copies him closely. And Jack? Well, Jack is Jack. He is my dog, has been since he was eight weeks old when I brought him home. You know how they say a dog is like it’s master? Well, we are living it. More aggressive than he needs to be sometimes? Yup. Loyal to a fault? Yup again. Cute as heck? Absolutely! Until next time!
