In the same KOA campground until 01-01-26 here in Arlington, TX. We arrived last Thursday afternoon. The same two men’s room toilets that were out of order then still are. Judging from the odor emanating they were overloaded and need to be snaked. Pretty sure that the issue is in the fixtures themselves and not the pipe because toilets on the other side of the wall are functioning just fine. I sent management a text stating as much and offered my professional assistance if they desired. I got a response that parts were on order for one of the toilets and they would send housekeeping to address the odor. There is a WalMart two miles down the road that I am sure carries every part that is inside the tank of those toilets. When I used one of the showers I could not get the shower to deliver hot water at first. Upon closer examination I saw that the shower control valve was installed upside down, thereby making the cold water setting hot and the hot water setting cold. Sigh. After owning and operating a company that was, and still is, considered at the top of its game, I find these shortcomings frustrating as they are completely avoidable and have a huge impact on customer satisfaction. Everything else here has been outstanding. The folks who manage it are friendly, the park is clean and quiet. They are just not plumbers I guess. The afternoon found us in Dallas at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Museum downtown. We visited the entire 6th floor and enjoyed all of the presentations and exhibits. We drove right over the two painted Xs in the street where he was shot. There have been many theories over the years, and “investigations” but no definitive concrete answer has ever been absolutely proven. Me? I don’t believe that Lee Harvey Oswald acted on his own. Whether he was just a framed innocent, or a paid/used pawn, I guess only God will ever know. What I do know is, that on that day the world lost a truly great and visionary leader. One of his most famous quotes “Ask not what your country can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country” needs to become our mantra, our way of life in this society of free everything for everyone who doesn’t want to work. Nuff said. Till next time.
