Put the dogs in the back seat and headed for Mustang Island. Mile after mile of driving on the sandy beaches. We found a spot away from everyone else and let the dogs run. The rules say that they have to be on a leash. So we left their leashes attached to their collars. We just happened to let go of the leashes. So technically they were still on them. Rosie got to enjoy some ball fetching time, Jack chasing the birds time, and Marley scrounging the seaweed for dead fish. Got some really good pics of what are called laughing gulls, apparently so named because of the sound that they make sounds like laughter. Mustang Island changes into Padre Island and I guess if you keep going you’d reach South Padre Island which is where we just came from. We visited the Texas State Park beach there as well, had some lunch that we had packed and then the pups got round two on the beach. Then it was time to head back. When they got out of the truck back at the campsite the back seat looked like a beach from all the sand. Stacy had some cleaning to do! We see a flyer on the campground community center bulletin board advertising an open house for a home for sale tomorrow. Thought we might stop by that to try and get some kind of feel for the real estate market here. Actually had to wear jackets today for the first time in a while. Low 60’s with wind made it a bit chilly compared to the 80’s that we had been enjoying. Now the heat is running in the camper instead of the AC!
