Stacy was the first to wish me a Happy Birthday this morning and followed that by asking what I would like to do today. I said “Nothing!” Absolutely nothing! No tours, no exploring, no driving, no visiting, no NOTHING! Seems as though lately we have just been on the go constantly trying to fit everything we’re interested in, in. I needed a break. She had made reservations at world famous Hanks Seafood in Charleston for 6 pm and I was good with that. James Island, where we are staying, has a County run dog park that was rated number 6 in the country in 2024 and it is a very short drive from our campsite so owe took the dogs there this morning and just let them run and swim. It is expansive, by far the largest off leash dog park we have encountered. Even though there always seems to be a half dozen or more other parties there it is not crowded. Jack decided that a loon swimming in the lake deserved his undivided attention so he gave pursuit. That loon led him back and forth and halfway out the lake before Stacy voiced concern that he was getting a ways out. After a couple of yells he turned back and made it to shore I thought fairly easily. But I will tell you this; he didn’t run much after that and stayed fairly close. Rosie loves to play ball and would run all day long if you kept throwing it for her. Marley, being 13, doesn’t run much anymore but she likes to participate by barking and carrying a ball around. After about 90 minutes of high octane activity they were ready to come back. They crashed so hard that Jack fell off his bed while asleep. Too Funny. Spent the afternoon relaxing while watching a Red Sox victory over the Twins and it was time to get ready for Hanks. We enjoyed a great meal with very good service and the best part was at the end where I didn’t have to pay! I will say this; driving in Charleston in an F250 is not for the faint of heart. Streets are narrow and busy. I had to back up and straighten out just to get out of the parking lot their barriers were so close. We will find a more suitable municipal lot for future use. Tomorrow; back to the tour grind. Wish me luck!
