We chose the mid-range tour package that allowed us access to the mansion (1st floor and basement floors only; no public access is permitted to the 2nd floor), all of the museum areas of which there are several), and the airplanes, of which there are two. We arrived at 11:30, left around 6 and did not have enough time to experience it all. Elvis’ mother saved EVERYTHING, even his high school graduation tassel. HE saved EVERYTHING, too. Apparently it was a genetic trait. We learned a lot of facts that we had not previously reallized. Did you know that he had a stillborn twin brother born five minutes before him? We also did not know that he never took one music or singing lesson, ever. He started singing at an early age, middle school, and it took off from there. All self taught. A true musical genius. He enjoyed life to its fullest and played just as hard as he worked. The opulence was almost decadent in some ways but he had his own demons that he fought. Truly sad that his mother passed at such a young age, he followed suit, and daughter Lisa Marie after. Fame and fortune has its price apparently.
