Pyramid Bass Pro Shop!
All Stacy wanted was a pair of slippers or heavy socks for the camper. I haven’t fished in decades and didn’t hunt last year at all so all I was looking for was a souvenir bucket hat. I try to find one each time we visit a major destination, and this certainly qualifies! New Orleans

David in New Orleans
So, funny story, but no pics. Stacy and I were walking down the street, I think it was Decatur St, when we cross an intersecting road and David meets on the corner outside of his salon. He shoves a couple of packets of cream/makeup, I don’t really know what into her hands all the while

Memphis!!
Today was a travel day. Six hours on the road from New Orleans (Slidell, LA) to Memphis, where we are actually staying in Marion, AR! No slowdowns or accidents and even the construction areas went smoothly. And I am NOT happy! We left 50s and 60s degree temps and when we get here it’s 40!!

Bourbon & Frenchmen Sts
We started the day with beignets and coffee at Cafe Du Monde. A perfect start. From there we wandered the shops along Decatur St and found some souvenirs before heading for Blacksmith Shop Bar on Bourbon St. for some liquid refreshment. Great granddaughter Emelia!!
Today we travelled to Katy, TX, about 80 miles from the campground in Galveston, and spent the day with Grandson Nathan, his wife Giselle, and their daughter, Emelia. They are planning on moving to a different apartment next week so Stacy and I offered to take 17 month old Emelia off their hands for the

ON THE BEACH!!
Galveston, TX finds us backed up to the beach. I am sitting at my dining table with windows left and straight ahead over the kitchen sink showing the surf rolling onto the beach! This is awesome! One of Stacy’s first remarks was “i love it!”. The next was “I can’t keep the sand out of

Corpus Christi Last Day
We have been here a week and I have shared some observations with Stacy who for the most part agrees with some of what I say. First, there are no mustangs on Mustang Island. At least not the horse kind, and I didn’t see any. There were no geese on Goose Island either. And in

Women In The Navy
Part of the tour of USS Lexington had an interactive feature that superimposed the 10 naval uniforms used over the years over you as you stood in the right place. Be sure to enlarge each of the following to see how Stacy would have appeared had she served at those times.
