We did both of these venues today so I will include them in the same blog. We started out at the Peabody Hotel at 5 pm to see the ducks parade through the lobby to the elevator that takes them to the penthouse every day. We were there in plenty of time but the place was packed. Who knew ducks in a hotel would be so popular? We were going to have to stand two deep back and vision was going to be sketchy at best. Until I yacked it up with one of the hotel employees in a suit standing at the elevator. Within a few minutes he told me that when they actually started the procession he was going to move the ropes in such a way that it would provide me with a front row seat! And I didn’t even have to slip him a bill! You watch the attached video and tell me what you think. From there we went to Beale St where Stacy wanted to see dueling pianos at Silky O’Sullivan’s, have a drink and a bite at BB Kings and maybe visit a souvenir shop or two. The dueling pianos was set for 7 pm accoring to the website so we made our way to BB KIngs first. Got a balcony table just off center and settled in for some blues. We split a catfish PoBoy with fries and enjoyed the music until breaktime. Visited a couple of stores where I found the required bucket hat and Stacy found her deck of cards and it was Silky O’Sullivan’s time! They feature real live Irish goats (they say if the Peabody can have ducks then they can have goats), we rubbed the real Blarney stone from Ireland and ordered a bite to eat. I thought something was off when a guy with a guitar got on the stage and started prepping but thought well wait and see what happens. Turns out one of the dueling pianists couldn’t make it, so we had a substitute. Tomorrow Nashville!
