Today was a travel day. Six hours on the road from New Orleans (Slidell, LA) to Memphis, where we are actually staying in Marion, AR! No slowdowns or accidents and even the construction areas went smoothly. And I am NOT happy! We left 50s and 60s degree temps and when we get here it’s 40!! They apparently experienced a very bad storm last week here as evidenced by entire swarths of trees decimated by the snow and ice along the interstate. Many trees that had fallen into the roadway have been cut back to the breakdown lane but that’s as far as they have been able to do so far. Some areas look as if a tornado went through, snapping them off halfway up. Others are uprooted. It will be a long time before the damages are cleaned up. Temps are supposed to be on the rise and I look forward to that! Stacy took the pups to the dog area where they all got some exercise after being cooped up in the back seat of the truck all day. Jack, of course, promptly laid on his back in the snow (yes, snow in Arkansas!) and took a snow bath. We have ALL of the heaters on in the camper, two electric and one propane, and are really quite comfortable. Check back in a day or two as we will post exploits of Memphis! Think Elvis…..
