Tuesday, 01-13-26 we have spent quietly resting. Stacy doing laundry and reading, me researching real estate in the “Hill Country” of Texas. It’s the first day since we left 12-15-25 that we have experienced rain. Just a little sprinkle on and off, nothing major and overcast skies, in the 60s. Stacy wants to check out the clubhouse tonight because they have rummy posted as being an activity. Neither of us has played cards in a very long time so I hope it’s not for money! We have met and spoken with a couple of very nice people here that have shared their camping experiences. One, from the Buffalo area, shared that after leaving NY the past 3 winters he doesn’t bother going anywhere but this campground and had booked his spot here for two months. So far my real estate searching reveals homes here range from $175/sf to over $400/sf depending on location, size and amenities. The drawback to inland properties on the water is that they draw the lakes down in the winter, leaving a lot more yard and potentially mud in the backyard. Maybe we look for something with a pond like we have in NY. Oceanfront brings hurricane concerns. After a couple of hours looking at places I have to take a break. Too much information overload. More USS Lexington pictures attached. Hope you enjoy them.
