Yes, TWO exclamation points!! This place is beautiful. The way here was dotted with HUGE windmill farms, our pics do not adequately show the magnitude how many there really are. The troubling part is all of the negative publicity we see about them, from how the blades are not recyclable and must be buried, to how much energy is expended in building them from the tons of concrete for the pads to the Gallons of oil to keep them lubricated, they really ARE NOT a renewable energy source as some proclaim them to be. Yet we saw thousands of them here. Some were not even working. I wouldn’t say a lot, or even some, but certainly many. My guess would have been 5-10% maybe. That aside, we arrived to South Padre Island late this afternoon and set up in our waterfront site for the next four days. My bride is super excited that she has front row seats to the bay AND a heated pool to swim in for the next four days! Check out time is 11 and she has already informed me that we ARE NOT leaving before then on Thursday! Neighbors upon arrival informed me that dolphins swim our bay daily, and folks who fish the shore regularly pull in rays and all kinds of Huge fish. We have been watching the pelicans patrol the waters and look forward to seeing what other wildlife shows itself. Tired, but anxious and excited for the next three days. Stay tuned!
