Today we returned to downtown San Antonio to tour the old church and fort, former mission. There is a massive amount of history behind this monument that I had not realized before today. I’ll not bore anyone with details but will say that if you visit the area and you appreciate history be sure to stop by. We walked a different part of the riverwalk from last night and enjoyed lunch at Rita’s On The Riverwalk. After visiting the Alamo gift shop and three local souvenir shops I was finally able to find the required bucket hat. I started getting them from areas that we visit going back to Alaska, Bermuda and San Francisco so San Antono and The Alamo was a must. Tomorrow we break camp and head to South Padre Island for a few days. We have a spot on the water so I’m looking forward to that! We didn’t miss our busses today so that was good, but my hips and legs are telling me a day off of them driving tomorrow is just the thing I need. Stacy’s knee is still sore too but that keeps her closer and she can’t run too far. Good thing no one is here to take pics of us going up and down the stairs. Gimpy and Grumpy. I’ll let you decide who is who. Enjoy the pics!
