We decided to visit the Riverwalk later in the day hoping to avoid the hotter weather. Took the bus into town and walked the last two or three blocks there. Went past the Alamo and got a nice pic of it with the moon in the background, We will visit there tomorrow. Went to Jimmy Buffet’s Margueritaville restaurant for supper first as the lines for the riverboat tours were horrendously long. After a 45 minute wait we got served and the food was good and reasonably priced. The lines were quite a bit shorter by then and we decided to give a try rather than wait until the next day. The tickets were a Christmas gift from Kara and Junior and very much appreciated. The tour goes all through or around the city on the Arkansas River and our tour guide was very knowledgeable. All of their Christmas decorations and lights were still up and hanging from the huge cypress trees lining the canals making it very pretty. The guide was a history buff and added some personal knowledge of events and famous people from the area. The entire riverwalk is lined with restaurants, bars, hotels and every kind of retailer imagineable. A true shoppers paradise! It was after 10 p.m. by the end of the tour and time to head back to the camper. We missed the last bus so had to call an Uber which was fine; was still cheaper than if we had driven and had to pay for parking and it was faster and more comfortable than the bus. Tomorrow the Alamo!
