We have been out to eat a couple of times since arriving in Arlington. I mentioned the other day that we enjoyed a dinner out with Stacy’s cousin Michael and his wife Kathleen at which I enjoyed catfish for the first time. We are not the hot and spicy kind of people so the TexMex cuisine is off the table for us. Kara started her professional restaurant management career out of Penn State with a local chain called Pappadeux. They actually have several different restaurants. Some specialize in TexMexx, some seafood, and some steaks. Last night we met Kara, Junior and Olivia at the seafood specialty one in Dallas. They specialize in mixing different seafoods in sauces and we were disappointed that the grouper dish with crab was sold out. We settled on Red Snapper with crab and almonds with spinach. We were not disappointed! The crab and spinach dip appetizer was also excellent. I tried octopus for the first time and found it to be soft and tender, similar to a scallop. If you are ever in the Dallas area I would recommend Pappadeux. Be prepared for a very nice experience in a very nice atmosphere, although it is a bit pricey compared to Upstate NY prices!
